Baltimore vs. Denver,

Score: 27 - 49
Point Spread: +9/-132 Baltimore
Today's winner is Baltimore over Denver.
The defending Super Bowl champion, Baltimore Ravens are miffed. After winning and covering all four post-season contests (Three as an outright 'dog), Baltimore comes in to Week 1 charted as the 2nd best team in their Division and slated at 24/1 to repeat. Yes, the Ravens lost perennial All-Pro's, Ray Lewis (Retired) and Ed Reed (Free Agency) but they compensated well by picking up Dumerville, Canty, Spears, and Huff and still have the bread and butter of the team (Flacco and Rice). Joe Flacco shined in the post-season tossing 11 TD's and 0 INT's. OC, Jim Caldwell gave the QB free reign at the line of scrimmage which is the reason for the team's success. Ray Rice will be the difference here. The RB has rushed for over 1,100 yards for four straight season's and led all NFL backs in receptions in that span with 278. Denver is touted as the team to beat. However losing Elvis Dumerville to Baltimore and Von Miller to suspension puts the already vulnerable defense in a tough spot. The Bronco's are a good team but looking at their schedule from last year shows us that they only beat one quality team in their final 11 regular season contests (all victories). They faced four tough teams in the first five weeks of the season going 2-3 both SU and ATS. Their stop-unit is very vulnerable in the air, which is where Joe Flacco and the Ravens offense soar. Peyton Manning is a true competitor who will be joined by Wes Welker this season. This is a solid unit but I believe they are given too much credit and are laying too many points here. The Ravens are 8-2-1 ATS the L11 meetings against the Broncos, 5-0 ATS their L5 Week 1 games played, and 11-5 ATS their L16 games played in September. Take Baltimore. Thank you.
